Talk:Harveer Gulia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article claims that Gulia inflicted a wound of which Timur "died when he reached Samarkand". However, the article on Timur states that he actually died seven years later, somewhere else, of a fever. This, and the tone of the article, make me think it isn't historically accurate and should be marked as such. Donald Ian Rankin 21:39, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- The article talks about the area in close proximity of Delhi(Haridwar, Meerut etc.). There is no doubt that Taimur/Timur had attacked and sacked this area. But to what extent the extract is true is surely dubious.

[edit] Timur's death
I have removed the claim about Timur's death as it clearly contradicts the account in the Wikipedia article on Timur which says: "In December 1404, Timur started military expeditions against the Ming Dynasty of China, but he was attacked by fever and plague when encamped on the farther side of the Sihon (Syr-Daria) and died at Atrar (Otrar) in mid-February 1405.[2] His scouts explored Mongolia before his death, and the writing they carved on trees in Mongolia's mountains could still be seen even in the twentieth century."
