What "revision" has Murray's theory that chess began in India undergone? As far as I know, A History of Chess is still considered an authoritative source on the history of chess. If this is referring to the theory that chess originated in China, although that theory has a few adherents, it is generally rejected by chess scholars as lacking evidence.
