Talk:Harmony Korine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think that the Harmony Korine's collaboration with Björk on the song "Harm of Will" on her album Vespertine (he wrote the lyrics) is notable and should be kept in Harmony Korine. This collaboration gave a lot of exposure to Harmony Korine, being probably the most popularly-known thing he has done. It is prominently described, including the quotation of the lyrics themselves, on his web page, here. Mareklug talk 05:29, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
- "being probably the most popularly-known thing he has done."... yeah, cuz no one ever saw "kids" and there wasn't huge media controversy over the movie or anything.65.43.216.166 16:41, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
This biography is poorly written, it's always been that way. Someone should re-write it.

- Now it's even more retarded. I preferred it how it was before. Now it reads like some retard trying to tell you what's so great about him. --202.134.251.206 10:00, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 1999-2005
When was speculation considered trivia? It should be deleted.--Eldiablito 04:24, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

- I don't think it should have been deleted. It mentioned the deterioration of Korine's health, his biggest gallery showing to date, his disappearance, his change in musical taste, and addressed his friendship with another hero in cinema. One word should be allowed to slip by.--Hypermagic 06:51, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

- I definitely think it should be in there, but it needs to be cited with reputable sources. But not necessarily in the "trivia" section. Sparsefarce 19:02, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

- It's a damn shame that this information was deleted. What happened to him during these years anyway? I want to know. Someone restore the information.

We won't restore it until someone finds a credible source. If you want to volunteer.... Sparsefarce 20:41, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
This says (and the source does say) that Korine is the youngest credited screenwriter of all time, which may have been true in 1995, but Nikki Reed cowrote "Thirteen" as a teenager.Starstattoo 03:19, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Stop Deleting Confirmed Trivia
If you think something should be deleted, talk about it here first before you remove a bit of important trivia that could easily be citated. I'm guessing whoever did this added this as well:
"This film premiered at the 24th Telluride Film Festival on August 29, 1997. During the screening, numerous people got up and left during the initial cat drowning sequence. After the screening, Werner Herzog and Harmony Korine hosted a Q&A session in which Werner gave praise to the film overall, especially the bacon taped to the wall during the bathtub scene."
This can't possibly be true because Korine has said in dozens of interviews that months after the film was released Herzog called him, told him he admired his bacon aesthetic and referred to him as "the last foot soldier." Whoever is doing this needs to stop. You're only making this article worse.--Hypermagic 20:20, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
That image, the one with Groucho Marx on his shirt, is copyrighted. It's by Terry Richardson. You take it down.
Terry said it was ok...
[edit] photo
I'm a little fuzzy on the fair use rules at wikipedia, but can we post a more recent pic of Korine? The one in the article must be 8 or 10 years old, at least. --142.103.211.144 00:10, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] themes and influence
I undid the edit that deleted the top ten films paragraph because I couldn't see the reason for it's deletion. If someone thinks it shouldn't be there to shorten the article or whatever then fair enough, but write your reasons here so people know about it.Retinalsummer 16:59, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
