Hartwick David Hanson (born 26 July 1957 in Burlingame, California) is an American television writer and producer.
Hanson's family moved to Canada when he was a child. He was ranked 8th in Canada in long distance swimming.[citation needed]. He received a B.A. from the University of Toronto and an MFA from the University of British Columbia, where he taught briefly.
