Harry Sandager

Harry Sandager (April 12, 1887 - December 24, 1955) was a U.S. Representative from Rhode Island.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Sandager attended the public schools at Cranston, Rhode Island, and Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.. He was graduated from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., in 1922. Newspaper reporter 1905-1918. Secretary to Congressman Walter R. Stiness 1918-1922. He returned to Providence, Rhode Island, and served as an office executive 1922-1931. He served as member of the State house of representatives 1928-1936. He moved to Cranston, Rhode Island, in 1931 and engaged in business as an automobile dealer.

Sandager was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth Congress (January 3, 1939-January 3, 1941). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1940 to the Seventy-seventh Congress and for election in 1942 to the Seventy-eighth Congress. He resumed the automobile business until his death. He served as member of the Republican National Committee 1941-1944. He died in Cranston, Rhode Island, December 24, 1955. He was interred in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
