Sir Harry Hands, K.B.E (1919), was a British colonial politician. Born as a son of Josiah Hands of Kings Norton, Warwickshire in 1860, he was educated at King Edward School in Birmingham and married Aletta C., daughter of Philip Myburgh. He was a member of the legislative assembly of the Cape Colony; 2s., 1 d; from 1912-1913 and 1916-1918 he served as mayor of Cape Town; C.Leopold II (Belgium) : Talana, Claremont, Cape Colony (T.N. Claremont 42); City (Cape Town) and Royal Automobile (Cape Town) Clubs.
