The title Lord of Harpole was purchased by the late Abdul Latif, owner of the Curry Capital restaurant in the Bigg Market, Newcastle upon Tyne[1]. Among other things, the Lord of Harpole was renowned for the dish "Curry Hell", which he marketed as the hottest curry in the world. He frequently appeared in Viz comic, and the acquisition of the Harpole title was just one of the many publicity stunts he orchestrated in the local area and beyond.
