Captain Sir Harold Campbell, GCVO DSO Royal Navy (1888-1969), was Equerry to the King George VI and then to Queen Elizabeth II 1936-1954.
He was Private Secretary to the Duke of York 1933-1936, and Deputy Comptroller in 1936. When the Duke became King, Campbell was appointed to his Household as Groom of the Robes 1937-1954. From 1954 until his death Campbell was Extra Equerry.
Campbell was made a DSO in 1918. Made a CVO in 1935, Campbell was promoted to KCVO in 1943 and to GCVO in 1953.
