Harinakunda is located at 23.6417° N 89.0500° E . It has 27408 units of house hold and total area 227.19 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Harinakunda has a population of 162078. Males constitute are 51.57% of the population, and females 48.43%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 79363. Harinakunda has an average literacy rate of 20.8% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
