The HardingFPA Flash and Pattern Analyser is a piece of software which runs under Microsoft Windows to analyse video content for flashing and stationary patterns which may cause harm to those who suffer from photosensitive epilepsy according to guidelines set by Ofcom in the UK
The test was developed by Cambridge Research Systems Ltd. and is based on research by Professor Graham Harding.[1]
The HardingFPA allows video streams to be input from tape via the SDI interface, or by a Composite input.
The software is currently used by many television stations in the UK to check for compliance with these guidelines.
