[edit] Article Created
This page was created on 2 April 2007 in order to begin to list commentaries on the Goddess Aditi. To my knowledge, the religious tradition(s) built around her mythology are the oldest living Goddess tradition. This is the first commmentary that I have found. Thank you for reviewing the above. - Hello Bhaktivinode - I am having difficulty in seeing the reason for this additional article? The Aditi article is surely the best place to discuss the goddess? We can't really create a new article for each of Tamal Krishna Goswami's lectures or writings - they will end up being deleted by administrators. Regards, ys, Gouranga(UK) 14:22, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Aditi Commentary
My reason for the Aditi article is because it is a commentary on the Goddess Aditi. The present article in on a 20th Century interpretation of a mythological tradition - a tradition ranging from the Aditi from the Vedas, to the Puranas, to vernacular/english commentaries of the present.
The fact that Tamal Krishna Gosvami was the medium of this particular commentary is of secondary importance. I think, and I mean this in respect, that you are viewing the Aditi article as if it is on a dead Goddess/mythological tradition. This is not so, and the near past is fair game to be recorded on wikipedia - Aditi commentaries included.
A good example of what I am talking about can be found using Jewish scholarship as a model. Jewish scholarship is up to date on its articles on new commentaries religious narratives in the recent past such as: Chayei Adam, Mishnah Berurah, Aruch HaShulchan, andOrach Chayim. The highly specified nature of these commentaries in no way should keep them off of wikipedia.
Every valid commentary on Aditi has just as much right to have an article on Wikipedia as those of other mythological, religious, theological i.e. narrative traditions. Please know that I am very open to continue this discussion further. Take good care in the meantime. Bhaktivinode 2 April 2007
- I tend to agree with GourangaUK - There isn't really any more information on this page than there is on the Aditi article itself, linking to this article. This page could have easily just have been included on the Aditi article. I also agree that each TKG lecture series doesn't need an article. Chopper Dave 23:03, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

- I agree that each TKG lecture series doesn't need an article. I only argue, and will only argue, that two commentaries TKG created are worthy of being articles. "The Mysterious Pastimes of Mohini-murti" and "Happiness is a Sciece - Aditi's Vow" are notable commentaries. These two commentaries are within the Gaudiya Vaishnava traidition, yet, in addition, each comments upon on Hindu Goddesses of relevance to both Gaudiya Vaishnavas and to the wider Hindu Traditions. Thank you for reviewing the above. Bhaktivinode 5 April 2007

- All Hindu goddesses are of relevance to both Gaudiya Vaishnavas and to the wider Hindu Traditions. Of course that doesn't mean the lectures are relevant to both however Chopper Dave 23:34, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

- You said you will argue, so where is the argument. Why do these lectures need seperate pages, and could not have simply have been included on the Mohini and Aditi page? Chopper Dave

- Each commentary is on an important Hindu Goddess, by an important Hindu religious leader. Each article addresses some mythological (puranic) issue with a theological commentary. For Aditi's Vow, an issue is her vow and what it means for Hindus, Gaudiya Vaishnavas, Hare Krishnas, etc. That is one example. For Mohini, an issue is her use of sexual powers which is analyzed an interpreted along the lines of gender roles. Each issue is central the the mythology of each Goddess. These commentaries are important and/or relevant to members of the Hindu traditions because of this type of analysis and deserve their own pages. Bhaktivinode 5 April 2007

- Haven't heard from you in a while. I was wondering what you thought of the present state of the article, as of the 7th of April. Any thoughts? Thanks for reviewing the above. Bhaktivinode 7 April 2007

In my opinion this article is not currently serving any definite purpose. There is little in the way of actual information that could not be included as one section or paragraph in either the Aditi or Tamal Krishna Goswami articles. Unless there are plans to expand it much further in future? Ys, Gouranga(UK) 09:22, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
