HanseaticEd is a name chosen in reference to the Hanseatic League, an alliance of traders formed in the late Middle Ages, that would come to dominate trade across Northern Europe for around three hundred years. The 'Ed', of course, merely refers to 'Editor'.
I live in Britain, although I hail originally from Canada: my [British] maternal grandparents having chosen to make their lives there; my paternal grandparents having made their way there as refugee Germans from the Ukraine.
My primary interest is in ecclesiastical history and historical theology, so you will find me peeking in at various related entries from time to time. I might also exert myself in the field of early medieval history and philosophy.
I am currently writing up my PhD thesis.
