Enjoyed reading the article. A few points:

It is quite 'listy', in that the WW2 section comprises a series of events, none of which is more than two or three sentences long. This could be overcome by expanding a few of the more important, (would increase the readability of the text).
Following from this, many of the paragraphs are short and choppy, and could be merged.
The lead should be expanded, maybe give a brief summary of his rise through the Luftwaffe, and a sentence on his life post war.
The article would benifit from a copy edit.
As a seperate project, consider turning the red links blue ;) + Ceoil 21:19, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
