Talk:Hanita

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hanita is an important piece in the history of Israel. Hanita was one of the first Tower and Stockade settlements in the country. The kibbuts also has a museum dedicated to the story of 'Migdal Uhoma', these defensive settlements that were part of the pioneer era in the establishment of the State (and just as important, the kibbutz was established high on a hill, on the ancient site of an older settlement that had been established in Talmudic times, to defend the passages into Israel. Hanita was the demarcation of the Lebanese border. Hanita was established on land purchased by Keren Kayemeth, and, based on the partition plan of the United Nations, found itself outside the boundaries of the soon to be declared State of Israel.
