Hans York (a.k.a. Hannsjoerg Scheid) is a German-born music producer based in Seattle.
He is also a singer-songwriter, producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist and has worked on a variety of albums, ranging from San Francisco Blues legend Fillmore Slim to Folk-jazz project Lyquid Amber to the New York Broadway Ensemble. He accompanied Robert Palmer on German TV, played throughout Europe with master harp player Rüdiger Oppermann, and performed a Concerto as Soloist on fretless bass with the "Ars Quittilinga" Chamber Orchestra. (Concerto written by contemporary East German composer Thomas König) Hans York co- founded the German World music cult band Moka Efti and recorded three CDs with them. The third album, “Fata Morgana” features US saxophonist Charlie Mariano and producer/saxophonist Heinrich von Kalnein.
Since 1999, he resides in the US and worked as DADGAD guitar player with US National Scottish Fiddle Champion Jamie Laval, recording artist and Singer Songwriter Kym Tuvim, and various others.
