Hans Erling Skallevold is a Norwegian speedskater, born in Oslo (9th October 1993), and live in Nøtterøy.
He's known for his fast starts and technically good crossovers. Beside his speedskating, he is also a very talented artist. His artistic talents are well known in his local area. He has a talent when it comes to drawing different items, you cannot find a better drawer in Nøtterøy!
He skated his first race February 2006, althought, this race was a clubrace and therefore unofficial. However, his first official race was Odalskøyta 2007, he finished in last place on both 500 and 1000 metres. This whole season he finished almost on last place every time, but managed to finish in 3rd place at the 500 metres in Siste Indre 2007, this was his best achievement for the season.
The following season included several highlights, but his career didn't draw attention before Sandefjordløpet, here he did for the first time fininshed 23rd (of 48) in the samalog and 13th (of 24) on the 1000 metres. For his first time he did qualify for the Landsmesterskapet (unofficial Norwegian junior single distance championship), here he finished in 7th place on the 500, 1000 and 1500 metres. This achievement brought even more attention to the local media and around the Norwegian skating community.
He ended his season with Siste Indre 2008 on Valle Hovin in Oslo. Here he finished 6th in the samalog in the men's junior C 500 and 1500 metres. He placed himself 4th on the 500 metres (the 2nd best of the men in the age 13), but after a poor 1500m he fininshed 9th and therefore fininshed 6th in the samalog.
Tønsberg Blad stated that he was: a promising skater for the future.
He's ranked as nr. 10 on all ditances trough all times in TT's history. And is propably ranked 7th on both 500 and 1000 in his national age-group and 8th on the 1500 metres.
