[edit] Guest Book

Hey there, I just noticed that you had a comment about wanting a guestbook? Your talk page (this page) is the closest thing on wikipedia, but you can make it easy for people to leave comments like a guestbook by creating a link like this [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:HaLoGuY007&action=edit&section=new]. // 3R1C 02:07, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, that's what I really wanted. HaLoGuY007 19:19, 19 April 2007 (UTC) It didn't work, so I'm just going to make one on my talk page. HaLoGuY007 19:59, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

You copied it including the brackets? How did it not work? // 3R1C 01:32, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

It just showed a 1 that was blue and linked to something. I think there should be 4 brackets, not 2 (there should be 2 in front 2 in back). I'm going to try some different ways. HaLoGuY007 21:11, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

All the link does is go to an edit page to create a new discussion subject on this page. HaLoGuY007 21:15, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maybach 62S

Hello, there. I saw your RFF regarding the above article recently, so I gave it a quick precis and some preliminary improvement to get you started. It's not a bad first effort! It's quite strong in facts, you have some sources, and it's neutral. Things that you can improve include:

  • Section content - Some of the content does not quite tie together as well as it could, which affects readability. Some rewording or repositioning will improve this.
  • Facts versus figures - It has plenty of figures, most of which can easily be found on the manufacturer's website, but it lacks background. Approach the article from the reader's point of view; anyone who only wants figures will go to the official website or get a brochure, but a Wikipedia reader is likely to be here because they want more than that. They might be an enthusiast, rather than a potential buyer. I would like to know something about the car's design and development, and its characteristics. With regard to the latter, it is of course vital to stay neutral and factual, using good quality reviews as citations. Some of those figures might be better in tabulated form to improve readability.
  • Context - This is what the intro is for. I improved this area to a limited degree, but more can be done. Read the article as someone who does not know what Maybach is or what its products are like. Where do they sit in the bigger picture? You may want to refer to Maybach's article for some guidance, though be careful to avoid excessive duplication of information. You could add something like "the 62S was the company's second (I'm guessing there) design since its revival by Mercedes-Benz, and is positioned above/below (delete as required) its larger/smaller sister model, the 57. (Wikilink if it has its own article). Context also serves to demonstrate/establish notability (that crucial tenet of Wikipedia's articles) which, while reasonably unquestionable for anyone who knows anything at all about the subject, always needs to be established.
  • References - Better formatting is required, really. See WP:REF for info.

I hope that helps you in your efforts to make a good article; you have a good base there anyway. If there is anything at all with which I can help, or anything about which you are uncertain, don't hesitate to get in touch. Regards, Adrian M. H. 14:41, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the tips. I'll start working on it. HaLoGuY007 19:53, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

The Maybach 62S page is gone! It currently redirects to the Maybach 57S and 62S page. Is this because enough information was on the old page? I don't think I did anything wrong either. HaLoGuY007 00:58, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
