Took out the nonsense about a murder-suicide in Sep 2005. Two of the articles in the references section are from 2007 and make reference to her being alive at the time of writing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.54.235.237 (talk) 20:12, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

A review of several articles found via Google indicates an error in Wikipedia: "The Stricklands (who had legally adopted Poutre)". One of the articles says the adoptive mother was unmarried at the time of adoption and the man later married her and became the girl's stepfather. He never adopted the girl.
