Halton is a village in Cheshire, England (postcode region WA7).
It now forms part of the town of Runcorn in the borough of Halton (which is named after it).

The village falls between the old and new areas of Runcorn: the main village in the new town part is near Halton Lea shopping centre (also known as Shopping City).
Halton is home to the Widnes Warriors Rugby league team.

Halton means "village at a heathery place, from Old English hathel "heathery" and tun "farm, village". The name was recorded as Haleltune in 1162.
