The Haldon Gold Cup Chase is a Grade 2 National Hunt steeplechase for five-year-old and above horses. It is run over a distance of 2 milesfurlongs (3,520 metres) at Exeter Racecourse in late October or early November. It is a limited handicap chase. There are twelve fences to be jumped in the race.

The race distance has varied from time to time over distances between 2 miles 1 furlong and 2 miles 2 furlongs. Prior to 1996 it was run as a conditions race.

The 2005 race was marred by the death of the triple Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Best Mate, who collapsed and died after being pulled up.
