[edit] Summary
Image of the main characters of the .hack//Sign anime series from the Newtype animation magazine published by Kadokawa Shoten. The image has been cropped to make thumb captons and inclusion more accessible. Ultimate copyright is owned by Bandai. Source is http://www.pcgames.com.cn/cartoon/photo/0401/pic/pcgames0117hack15.jpg
[edit] Fair use for .hack//Sign
Though the picture is subject to copyright I (Kazu-kun) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- it is a low resolution copy of official artwork released in the Newtype animation magazine.
- it does not limit the copyright owners rights to sell the series on DVD in any way.
- it illustrates the main characters and aids commentary on the plot outline.
- there is no free alternative depicting the main characters of the series.
- The copyright is held by the studio Bandai
[edit] Licensing

qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
