[edit] March 2008

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Ehheh (talk) 16:26, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. --Hu12 (talk) 16:29, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

It has become apparent that your account is only being used for spamming inappropriate external links or self-promotion, so it has been blocked indefinitely. Wikipedia is NOT a "repository of links" or a "vehicle for advertising" and persistent spammers will also have their websites blacklisted.

Hi! How can I add external links to articles that are written by me. I am a PhD researcher at the University of South Australia, and some of the articles are written during my doctorate, and others during my Master`s degree. They were all published in a book titled "Beyond Design" and in various magazines. I don`t want to be blocked as a spammer, as these articles are relevant to topics that can be found on Wikipedia. They are academic articles, and I would like to add them as a contribution to my field of expertise. Could you please give me an advice?

Thank you! Gjoko Muratovski— Gyokomura (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic. The preceding unsigned comment was added at 17:43, 19 March 2008 (UTC).

See WP:OR and ”Self-published sources (online and paper)”. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia - as such many links are not relevant. Equally Wikipedia is not a place to to promote a site --Hu12 (talk) 18:01, 19 March 2008 (UTC) Ok.. thank you for the info.
