The Great Western Railway steam locomotive no. 6880 Betton Grange is a 4-6-0 Grange Class locomotive, known as "the 81st Grange."

All of the "Grange Class" locomotives were scrapped before the large scale UK preservation movement could preserve a sample. The 6880 Society (registered charity, no: 1100537) was formed in 1998 with the sole intention of recreating a Great Western Grange class locomotive. While many of the other Great Western classes survived into preservation, none of the Grange class escaped the breakers yard cutting touch. Many of members of the society bring with them the skills and knowledge from a previous project, which was the successful restoration of ex-Barry scrapyard large Prairie No. 5199.

6880 Betton Grange is being built at the Llangollen Railway using the boiler from Modified Hall Class 7927 Willington Hall. Also from the Hall is the 4000 gallon tender, for which the chassis will require some restoration while the tank will need complete reconstruction. New frames have already been cut and the cab completed. Betton Grange will also feature the chimney from fellow Grange 6868 Penrhos Grange, and a spare set of wheels from a 2-6-0 4300 Class. Many other smaller parts have already been purchased or created, as can be seen from the status diagram:[1] Image:StatusDiagram.jpg
