[edit] Dining room and parlor / palladian room

I noticed a discrepency in the floor plan labelling provided by the Gunston Hall Plantation official website, and the Historic American Buildings Survey (part of the US National Park Service). Compare this and this. (You will probably have to download a higher resolution image and zoom in to see the labelling on the latter.) The dining room and parlor (or palladian room?) seem to be switched, and the latter shows no service stairway. Armedblowfish (talk|mail|contribs) 13:05, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removed tourist FXVA reference

I removed the tourist FXVA reference per Oldelpaso (see peer review), which was just used for some basic information in the lead. It was replaced with stuff from the official Gunston Hall museum website, see diff. Reference follows:

[edit] Removed material about the naval ship being named after Gunston Hall

The official US navy site went dead, and I couldn't find a replacement from archive.org. I don't think the Unofficial US navy site is sufficient by itself. Therefore the following was removed:

The USS Gunston Hall was named for the mansion.[1][2]

  1. ^ History. USS Gunston Hall (LSD044) - Defending the Constitution. U.S. Navy. Retrieved on 2006-09-01.
  2. ^ Doehring, Thoralf (webmaster). About the Ship’s Name, about the Sage of Gunston Hall. USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44). Unofficial US Navy Site. Retrieved on 2006-08-24.

It was replaced with this:

Oh, and thanks to Oldelpaso for pointing out the link was dead, see peer review. — Armed Blowfish (talk|mail) 16:49, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reference system

Seen in the history recently, "This reference system makes it almost imposible to edit".[1]

I'm sorry. What is wrong with it?  : (
