Gunnar Nielsen (born 7 October 1986 in the Faroe Islands) is a Faroese footballer, currently playing for Blackburn Rovers as a goalkeeper.
Nielsen told the official Rovers website: 'I am very pleased - it is a massive opportunity for me just to develop in the best league in the world.
'I'm glad that the manager and staff believe in me and I won't let them down.'
Nielsen is understudy to Rovers two established keepers Brad Friedel and Jason Brown.

Nielsen was signed by Blackburn Rovers for a "small" but undisclosed fee on 2 July 2007 from BK Frem.[1]
