Gunasekara is an old Sri Lanka family that came 400 years ago to crown the Sri Lankan King from North India. They are Royal Brahmins from Bengal who arrived with seven families to Lanka at that time. They settled down in south Sri Lanka and all so in Kandy( hill country). The family has a recorded history. All the Gunasekara's are from one family. They made their way from District Administrators all the way to the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. Most of them are Jurists and highly educated.
