Can't "wuss out" except on easy mode
After a tier is complete, a new tier is introduced. New in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock are career mode boss battles; at three points during the career mode, the player is required to compete against a boss character: Tom Morello, Slash, and Lou the Devil, in order to progress; however, after three attempts, the player is given the option to skip the battle if they so choose[citation needed]
On the ps2 version, I noticed you can't "wuss out" after 3 tries on medium, or maybe I just blocked it from my mind.
I also don't think you can wuss out versus Lou (the end boss) on easy mode.

- I know for a fact that I "wussed out" against Slash on Expert on the 360 version, though I think it took more than 3 tries. Oren0 (talk) 19:09, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

- I wussed out on him too on expert, but I think you just have to fail without him using any powerups on you, but i dont know. Oh, and I did finally beat him, he's not that hard! frogTape: Covered in flies for your enjoyment (talk) 04:59, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
I believe it is possible to give-up on the ps2 version. it may take more then 3 tries if you do well (Not failing until around the end). But it is impossible (on any version) to give-up on Lou. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.99.80.106 (talk) 01:19, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

- You can "wuss out" on any mode, but ONLY after failing the boss battle 3 times in a row. I know this as I watched a friend of mine fail to beat Tom Morello on Medium 3 times in a row. He choose to "wuss out" and continued on to play the encore song, Bulls on Parade, with Tom Morello. What I don't know is if there are any reliable and verifiable sources that mention this. Aerosmith
Just now, I found out for XBOX 360 that they are offering a free download of Dream On by Aerosmith for Guitar Hero 3 until tomorrow (Monday the 18th). They mentioned something about a Guitar Hero Aerosmith game.... 67.68.36.252 (talk) 21:10, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Problems in the Guitar Center for WII
Sometimes when I go into the Guitar Center on Guitar Hero III for WII, and it just starts scrolling like crazy, and the only way to stop it is to take the wii remote out of the guitar. Anyone know of this issue?170.252.248.203 (talk) 22:37, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Ben
If when you turn on the controller and the anolog stick is up or down (not sure if its the same with strum bar, it will cause the scroller up and down. also if your wammy bar is down when you turn on the controller or conect the wii mote- it wiill Not work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.248.85.60 (talk) 15:35, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Guitar Controllers
There is no mention at all in this article about the guitar controllers. Should there be? —Preceding unsigned comment added by PnJunkie (talk • contribs) 18:25, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- The word "controller" appears 18 times in the article, not including footnotes, and once more in the external links section. The article talks about the wireless controller, the controller being shaped like a Les Paul, compatibility with previous controllers, the removable neck, and so on. Am I misunderstanding your question? Travisl (talk) 18:47, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe he was talking about an image of the Guitar Hero III guitar controller? Lightsup55 ( T | C ) 03:07, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Add-on to Wii Exclusive features:
The surround sound GH3 Wii disk has the "miss" sounds more like the other system GH3. They are no longer like the ps2 Guitar Hero 2.--Ice66Breaker 23:01, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

There is no information in the article about download content for the PC - this should definitely be mentioned in the article. When? What? How much? Some guy (talk) 19:09, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm concerned about the into section's assertion that guitar hero "simulates" playing guitar by hitting "notes". This is not accurate- a simulation is a realistic representation e.g. flight simulator simulates flying, as it attempts to accurately recreate mechanics of flying an aircraft. Guitar hero does not simulate playing guitar, it is essentially a guitar shaped simon-says game. "Notes" and the wikilink to music notes is also inaccurate. The player doesn't hit notes at all, each button triggers the game to play or not play whatever note happens to be in the song at that moment, the player doesn't control what note it is. - superβεεcat 00:24, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- It sounds to me that you're taking "simulate" too seriously. It fits. 134.68.177.233 (talk) 19:09, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

In-Game Advertising
I've seen a few references to movies while playing guitar hero III. For example, i saw the "Golden Compass" logo/movie poster while playing slow ride; i do not, however, remember what venue i was playing on. More recently, i saw the logo/movie poster for "Drillbit Taylor". I think it would be cool if more research was done on the appearances of such advertising, and a section be created in the main wikipedia article.

Wii mono sound issue to be fixed by Activision releasing a remastered game restoring true Dolby prologic sound. The only issue is that customer has to send back their guitar hero and lose the game for some time.
