I am concerned about the reference to Roman amphorae discovered in Guanabara Bay. The source listed for it is a forum posting from Free Republic, whose mission statement is: "Broadly stated, the goals of this site are to further conservatism, expose political corruption, and recover a truly constitutional form of government. As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and pro-America." There is also no reference to any substantial lithic analysis to prove the amphorae are European in origin, though I have not been able to review any reports written by Robert Marx on the finds or related digs. I have eliminated the reference until we can find more reliable sources corroborating the story.Ninarosa 04:53, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
