Gu Xiulian

Gu Xiulian (Chinese: 顾秀莲; Pinyin: Gù Xiùlián; December 1936 - ) was one of the vice chairmen of standing committee of 10th National People's Congress of China. She currently serves as the chairman of All-China Women's Federation. A native Nantong, Jiangsu Province, she received postgraduate education at central party school of CPC, and is a senior engineer. She joined Communist Party of China in September 1956, and was an alternate member of CPC's 11th central committee, and a full member of 12th - 15th central committee. She was the first female provincial governor in People's Republic of China.
