[edit] Gravity Hill/Arcadia
I've been vacationing in Arcadia, MI (Manistee County) for most of my life. What's your connection with it? Fishal 05:34, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Unverified images
Hi! Thanks for uploading the following image:
- Image:Detroitmetroarea1.jpg
I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GNU Free Documentation License, {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know at my talk page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much. [[User:Poccil|Peter O. (Talk, automation script)]] 05:53, Dec 11, 2004 (UTC)
P.S. You can help tag other images at User:Yann/Untagged_Images. Thanks again.

Nice work there on Lower Peninsula of Michigan! Mackensen (talk) 20:23, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Michigan wealthy cities
You added data to the Michigan article on the wealthiest cities. Could you add a date and source for this data? Rmhermen 16:45, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] WikiPedia Chapter In Michigan
I'm trying to corral people that may be from Michigan to see if anyone is interested in hosting a US Wikipedia in Ann Arbor, MI. If there is intrest with enough Michigan/Ohio members, I will try to pull together a location, like the conference space at Internet II or the University of Michigan School of Information. Please let me know what you think and spread the word. We can use my page as a discussion area. --Ronreed 23:51, 24 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ann Arbor, Michigan - Image question
I saw you have uploaded the following images: Image:Ann-Arbor-City-Flag.gif and Image:Ann-Arbor-City-Flag.gif. Can you tell me of the images' source and why they are in the public domain? I have placed the article through peer review and a question was brought up concerning the images. Thanks. Pentawing 01:45, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying the images. Hopefully that will be resolved. In the meantime, can you look over the article? I have added a lot since and need a second opinion on it. Pentawing 04:23, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Request for map
No problem on the Ann Arbor map. I'll have it posted tomorrow afternoon. Let me know if you have any more city articles you want to feature. SoundGod3 03:43, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ann Arbor, Michigan - Expansion help
I can see that you are enthusiastic over the possibility of this article's becoming featured. At the moment, there are some shortcomings, the most glaring is "sports and recreation." I am in the process of looking for verifiable information that I add that to the article. If you have any other ideas, can you please tell me so that we could coordinate changes? Thanks. Pentawing 16:13, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
- Just to let you know, I closed the peer review and placed the article for FAC. Pentawing 23:15, September 6, 2005 (UTC)
- I think this is your chance to make up for your "lack of participation" (though you did contribute in some way, especially with the map image, which is good). You could take a picture of S. University or State Street if you wish (I've taken some images and will place them up soon). How you take that picture is up to you. Pentawing 20:59, September 7, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image:M185mackinac.jpg
You own the copyright to the photo Image:M185mackinac.jpg, yet it is marked fair use. Are you sure that you did not mean to license it under the GFDL or CC or release it into the public domain? It really makes no sense because fair use images are depreciated and one should assume they will be deleted if not indispensible (e.g., logos). 119 11:18, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Montreal-Mirabel International Airport
I recently saw that you had concerns about POV issues with the article. Since I had voted to support the article's promotion to FA (a mistake in hindsight), I decided to try to repair as many of the problems as possible. If you have the chance, can you look at the article and suggest necessary repairs? The last thing I want to see is the article's being nominated for FA removal. Thanks. Pentawing 00:21, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] WikiProject Michigan
I know you sometimes edit articles on Michigan-related items. You might be interested in the new wikiproject, Wikipedia:WikiProject Michigan. Cheers. older≠wiser 20:49, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] University of Michigan
Though you might be busy at the moment, I am wondering if you would be interested in looking over the article and comment on what else is needed. Thanks. Pentawing 03:17, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
- I think the article is close to FA. However, if you get the chance can you please look at it and see if there is anything more that is needed? Thanks. Pentawing 21:46, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image licensing
Hi, I notice Image:Southmanitoulighthouse.jpg is by you, but does not have a free license on it. Could you please add one? Also check your other image uploads please - we're scrubbing out all the unlicensed images. Stan 00:52, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- Heh, I know what you mean, I have to have the list up in its own window to keep track. {{PD-self}} is the most "wide open", lots of people use it. Come to think of it, you could put a blanket statement on your user page saying "all my pics are PD", then the image elves don't have to bug you about each one they look at. Stan 03:52, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ann Arbor
Hey there!
Doesn't look like you're around much, but if you see this soon... I wanted to ask your permission to use Image:Ann Arbor at Liberty Street.jpg over on Wikitravel, where I'm a frequent contributor and admin. In order to do that you'd need to license it under Creative Commons by SA 1.0.
Ann Arbor is currently nominated for Star status (our equivalent to "featured article"), so I'm trying to get some better images that represent the town. I'd also love if you could look over the Ann Arbor article there and see what you think, since you live(d) there... anything missing? Anyhow, thanks! – cacahuate talk 06:40, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image source problem with Image:Ann-Arbor-City-Seal.png
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Ann-Arbor-City-Seal.png. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:24, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. [edit] Replaceable fair use Image:StMarysprepbuilding.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:StMarysprepbuilding.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 22:03, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] South Manitou Island Light
I did quite a bit of work on this article. I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful picture that adds a lot to the article. Very nice shot. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 22:18, 27 February 2008 (UTC) Stan
