[edit] Barnstar award

The Original Barnstar
I hereby award you for writing two excellent and informative articles – Cyril Rootham and Douglas Moore – that I came across purely by chance. Two men I hadn't heard of before, I now want to know more. –MDCollins (talk) 22:35, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

If I have one piece of constructive criticism, it is the need to cite where you got the material from. A reference section is crucial to a good article, coupled with some external links (if you have any); it provides people (i.e. me) to seek out more information on the subjects. Having said that, I enjoyed reading what material was there, it is excellently written. Thank you –MDCollins (talk) 22:35, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Jean Francaix.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Jean Francaix.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:22, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

The image hasn't been deleted yet, but it is now fair game for the first admin that comes along. Also, it's tagged as an album cover, but doesn't look like one (at least at first glance). Could you please add a note to the image page and say where it's from, why it's not taking away from anyone's commercial use (ie that it's not from a picture library), and why it isn't replaceable with a free image. Thanks. Otherwise the image police will come in the night sometime soon, and take it away. Jheald 18:00, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
