I'm a journalist of sorts - I write and edit for a living - originally from Footscray, an inner suburb of Melbourne, Australia, and now living in Bangalore, India. I enjoy living in different parts of the world. I lived in Hanoi from 2000-2005, Jakarta in 1999-2000 and Hong Kong from 1996-1999 and 1987-1988. I've also lived in the United States (1988-1996) and the United Arab Emirates (1996).

I'm interested in history generally, Hong Kong, India, Melbourne, New York, cricket, urban legends, and travel, especially in exploring new cities and the Mediterranean and Gulf regions.
