Groupe UFG, a subsidiary of Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe, is a full-scale player in the asset management market, with a special expertise in alternative investment management. Multi-specialist, multi-target asset management group, Groupe UFG draws on the resources of its 370 professionals in four areas of expertise:
- Real estate investment (UFG Real Estate Managers)
- Funds of hedge funds(UFG Alteram)
- Private equity (UFG Private Equity)
- Asset management (UFG Investment Managers)
These business lines complement one another to enable the Group to offer its clients institutional investors, financial advisors and individuals investment solutions covering the traditional asset classes as well as a complete range of so called alternative investments.

A holding company, 100%-owned by Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe. Subsidiariesare majority-owned by Groupe UFG with minority interests held by management and Groupe Crédit Mutuels other federations.

Groupe UFG is a federation of asset managers. Its organization shows the Groups philosophy at work: independence in interdependence.

[edit] Real estate investment (UFG Real Estate Managers)
UFG REM is the Groups real estate investment management entity which with more than 30 years experience is the leader in the French SCPI real estate investment fund market. With more than 4 billion in assets, UFG REM manages 25% of the funds allocated to French SCPIs. The real estate includes 2.1 million m2 in 1,300 buildings. UFG REM invests 700 million annually on behalf of its SCPI funds. UFG REM also leads, in terms of net subscriptions, both commercial and residential SCPI ranges. The investments offered by UFG REM are marketed to institutional inves tors and to individual investors through financial advisors networks and distribu tion platforms.
[edit] Funds of hedge funds (UFG Alteram)
As a specialist in funds of hedge funds, UFG Alteram offers access to the great variety of the hedge fund universe through a double approach of multi-strategy and single-strategy funds of hedge funds. Historically geared to institutional investors, UFG Alteram also meets the needs of financial advisor networks and distribution platforms, offering a complete range of innovative French-regulated funds of hedge funds. These employ the full panoply of strategies and are designed to be suitable for any type of portfolio. These strategies are implemented through an original and rigorous investment process which was awarded an IP2- rating by Fitch in late 2006. UFG Alteram now manages over 3.8 billion in assets under management.
[edit] Private equity (UFG Private Equity)
UFG Private Equity specializes in direct minority investments in unlisted compa nies (venture capital, growth capital and LBOs) and also in managing funds of pri vate equity funds. Formed in 2004, UFG Private Equity has over 170 million in assets under manage ment in six investment funds: one French FCPR private equity fund (Nord Europe I) and three FCPI venture capital funds (Diadème Innovation I, Diadème Innovation II and Diadème Innovation III), all of which invest directly, one FIP (Diadème Proximité I) and one international FCPR private equity fund of funds (Diadème Global Selection) in partnership with Schroders. Funds are raised from individual investor through financial advisors networks and distribution platforms as well as from institutional investors.
[edit] Asset management (UFG Investment Managers)
Formed in 1978, UFG IM built its track record as Crédit Mutuel Nord Europes subsidiary for managing equity, fixed income and balanced portfolios. In the past four years, UFG IM has extended its client base to include institutional investors through a range of short-duration and highly specialized products, including thematic investing, core satellite investing and absolute performance funds. UFG IM now manages and advises over 10.4 billion, spread among UCITS for the Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe network, corporate and institutional clients, financial advisor networks and distribution platforms, and dedicated mandates. More than 70 UCITS under French, Belgian and Luxembourg laws are offered to individual and institutional clients.
