 My Animagus form
Su'cuy! ("Hi" in Mando'a) Welcome to my userpage. So, who am I? Well, that's a really good question, and I'll try give you a quick summary. Who likes reading pages of information on one editor?
Before moving to North Carolina, I had the unique opportunity to travel around the world for a few years and visit some truly fascinating places, including Italy, France, Germany, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Cayman Islands, and various states within the US, to name just a few. Depending on my schedule and budget, I'm probably going to Croatia this summer and the United Kingdom the year after that. So...anyone get the idea that I like to travel? Yeah, me neither – I can't imagine why you would possibly think that.
I currently attend a private high school – naturally, the teachers keep our noses to the grindstone and force us to slave away from dawn 'till midnight. Oh well, live goes on, I suppose. :) No, seriously, as a student taking AP courses, multiple languages, and still managing to get straight A's, I have lots of homework to keep me busy.
Hmm...my personality. Well, that's a bit trickier, and I tend to be a walking contradiction. I have an extremely quick temper that many people fear, yet I can be cold and calculating at a moment's notice. I'm not a social person, nor do I really make an effort to be friends with people, but if you're lucky enough to be a member of my "pack," I'd kill for you. I'm a perfectionist who's obsessed with my grades, but if it doesn't count, chances are I'll just ignore it or procrastinate. I'm notoriously sarcastic, downright mean at times, and tend to have an arrogant streak a mile wide. Still, I can be kind and compassionate when I need to be. I'm extremely cynical and I usually see the world in shades of grey. You starting to see a pattern here?
If you asked any of my friends to describe me, they would probably comment on my brains (not bragging, seriously. Yeah, I really believe that.) and my love of Star Wars (both the movies and the Expanded Universe), Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter. To be honest though, I will read and/or watch anything related to fantasy or science fiction.
I am an avid bibliophile and a voracious reader. For example, I purchased Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at midnight and finished it by breakfast. Seriously, books are my life. In what little spare time I have (not much, trust me), I practice archery (five ranks from a gold medal). I also enjoy perusing Wookieepedia (occasionally), though under the name Sword of the Sith.

[edit] Quotes
[edit] Kingdom of Heaven
Godfrey: You are not what you were born, but what you have it in yourself to be.
-
- — Scene 8: A better world
Hospitaller: I put no stock in "religion." By the word religion I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of god. I have seen too much religion in the eyes of too many murderers. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness. What god desires is here [points to head] and here [points to heart] and what you decide to do every day, you will be a good man – or not.
-
- — Scene 14: The new baron (director's cut)
Baldwin: You see, none of us chose our end, really. A king may move a man. A father may claim a son. But remember that even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus," or that virtue was not convinient at the time. This will not suffice. Remember that.
-
- — Scene 17: The leper king
Balian: None of us took this city from Muslims. No Muslim of the great army now coming against us was born when this city was lost. We fight over an offence we did not give, against those who were not alive to be offended. What is Jerusalem? Your holy places lie over the Jewish temple that the Romans pulled down. The Muslim places of worship lie over yours. Which is more holy? The wall? The Mosque? The Sepulchre? Who has claim? No one has claim. All have claim! [...] We defend this city, not to protect these stones, but the people living within these walls.
-
- — Scene 35: To defend Jerusalem
Bishop: Convert to Islam. Repent later.
Balian: You've taught me a lot about religion, your Eminence.
-
- — Scene 42: Nothing and everything
[edit] Pirates of the Caribbean
Barbossa: Still thinkin’ of running, Jack? Think you can outrun the world? You know, the problem with being the last of anything, is, by and by, there be none left at all.
Jack: Sometimes things come back, mate. We're livin' proof, you and me.
Barbossa: Aye, but that's a gamble of long odds, ain't it? There's never a guarantee of comin' back. But passin' on, that's dead certain [...] The world used to be a bigger place.
Jack: World's still the same...there's just less in it.
-
- — At World's End, scene 10: The last pirate
Elizabeth: This is madness.
Jack: This is politics.
-
- — At World's End, scene 16: Brethren Court
Jack: What? You've seen it all, done it all. You survived. That's the trick, isn't it? To survive?
Teague: It's not just about living forever, Jackie. The trick is living with yourself forever.
-
- — At World's End, scene 18: The pirate code
[edit] Stargate SG-1
Colonel Mitchell: Look, just because we know there are some beings on a higher plane of existence than ourselves does not mean that there's not an order of being higher than them.
-
- — Season 9: Origin
Vala: You will not be the same. (Referring to her husband leaving to fight.)
Tomin: No.
-
- — Season 9: Crusade
Vala: So, this girl in the bar, her name was Denya, and we struck up a bit of a friendship. By the looks on your faces, I can see you're not surprised I had more in common with a village harlot than I did with any of the ladies from the local knitting circle.
Mitchell: Don't know what you're talking about.
Vala: At least she was honest.
-
- — Season 9: Crusade
Seevis: Gods cannot be gods without those who stand beneath them gazing upwards.
-
- — Season 9: Crusade
[edit] Star Wars
Our true faces lie in the dark beneath our skins, our true hearts remain shadowed deeper still.
-
- — Revenge of the Sith
The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins. It always wins because it is everywhere. It is in the wood that burns in your hearth, and in the kettle on the fire; it is under your chair and under your table and under the sheets on your bed. Walk in the midday sun and the dark is with you, attatched to the souls of your feet. The brightest light casts the darkest shadow.
-
- — Revenge of the Sith
[edit] Uncle Tom's Cabin
St. Clare: I could sooner show twenty what were good to be done, than be one of the twenty to follow my own showing.
-
- — Chapter16
St. Clare: I am one of the sort that lives by throwing stones at other people's glass houses, but I never mean to get up one for them to stone.
-
- — Chapter 16
St. Clare: Religion! Is what you hear at church religion? Is that which can bend and turn, and descend and ascend, to fit every crooked phase of the selfish, worldly society, religion? Is that religion which is less scrupulous, less generous, less just, less considerate for man, than even my own ungodly, worldly, blinded nature? No! I must look for something above me, and not something beneath.
-
- — Chapter 16
St. Clare: It's pretty generally understood that men don't aspire after the absolute right, but only do about as well as the rest of the world.
-
- — Chapter 16
St Clare: There was [...] a time in my life when I had plans and hopes of doing something important in this world, more than to float and drift. I had vague, indistinct yearnings to be a sort of emancipator – to free my native land from this spot and stain. All young men have such fever-fits, I suppose, some time – but then [...] I got the despair of living that Solomon did. I suppose it was a necessary incident to wisdom in us both; but, somehow or other, instead of being actor and regenerator in society I became a piece of driftwood, and have been floating and eddying about, ever since.
-
- — Chapter 19
The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.
-
- — George Orwell
Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
-
- — Caesar and Cleopatra (play)
