AN OPINION OF MISS APPLE:

American Idol is not a completely accurate show. It is not always about the incredible talents people have; it's a lot of times about how attractive the contestants are. Of course, nobody is going to stay on the show if they sing like a frog, but I do think that there are always some really great people that get sent off because they aren't the most attractive or because they mess up. Another thing is a lot of the people on the show are WAY better than some famous singers!

If only the judges got to vote for contestants, then at least America wouldn't keep a guy on the show because of his apperance. Sanjaya was that way last year, and this year it was Danny. Sure, he could sing, but it was because of all the girls that were crazy about him that he got as far as he did.

Though Simon is always straight forward and consistent (I admire him for that), he really doesn't have to be so brutal. To tell someone that they are really fat - and go on and on about it - is just plain RUDE! But to say, "This is really not your night" or "that was your worst performance," sure it comes across as being mean, but would you rather he say, "That one was okay" and then get voted off the next night?

I do think that he really could be more gentle in all he says, I really do. But ask a lot of the American Idol contestants who their favorite judge is, and they will probably say "Simon Cowell."
