I've removed the reference to Jeremiah, the TV show JMS also ran. As tempting as it is to think that he foreshadowed his work on the latter six years in advance, it is, alas, a bit improbable. There's also no supporting evidence either in the Lurker's Guide or through JMSNews.com, so I think it's fair to assume at this point that it is coincidence, and nothing more.

Secondly, there's this:

Marcus says to Neroon "We walk in the dark places no other will enter We stand on the bridge, and no one may pass," a clear LOTR reference, to Gandalf confronting the balrog on the bridge, saying "You shall not pass."

There is a post on JMSNews about these sort of references...

...effectively, this might be a reference to LOTR, and might not be; either way, there doesn't seem to be any hard evidence. In light of this; should the item be removed, on the grounds that it is not verified and / or possibly constitutes original research? I place the matter in the hands of my betters. 65.121.247.130 15:19, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

The knight defending the bridge against everyone who wants to pass is a well-known figure in the medieval epic literacy. To see a reference to LOTR may be tempting but it'd be unfair. Jasev 16:42, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
