It is misleading to claim that the Nothnagle Log House was built in 1638. In fact, this was the year the first Swedes and Finns landed on the Delaware, but there is no evidence whatsoever that this structure was built immediately upon arrival.
Looking at the various sources, it appears that:
- There is no consensus on the age of the building other than "17th century"
- No scientific evaluation of the age of the structure has been carried out
