Talk:Greater Prairie Chicken
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a great article. For example I did not know these birds were related to the grouse. An interesting factoid can be added, actually from my grandmother who lived on the prairie all of her life. According to her, on very rare occassions prairie chickens can be seen dancing in a circle. This is almost never witnessed by humans, and in her case she happened to see them when berry picking in the brush. I would like to know whether there are any explanations to this type of behaviour --Horn75.196.17.94 03:59, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- As it says in the article, it's called Booming or Lekking. Native Americans imitate them in their dances. Speciate 00:49, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
