Gregory Burgess (born January 11, 1972). Burgess is a former freestyle swimmer from the United States, who won a silver medal in the 200 intermediate medley (IM) at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. He represented the United States in the 1992 and 1996 Olympic games. He attended the University of Florida and while in college, he set four American records: two in the 200 IM and two in the 400 IM.
Greg Burgess joined the United States Marine Corps in 1997 in Jacksonville, Florida, and has achieved the rank of Major. He is one of the few of the United States' Olympians to volunteer for military service.
