Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras

The Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras (GBYO) are based in Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA, and serve about 250 students from some 30 surrounding towns, including Fairfield, Trumbull, Monroe, Stratford, Westport, Milford, and numerous others. Founded in 1961, GBYO has a reputation as one of the finest youth orchestras in the country. It was led for 25 years by Robert Genualdi. In 2007 Mr. Genualdi retired and Theresa McGee took over as Music Director and Principal Orchestra conductor, beginning with the 2007-08 season.

GBYO consists of four orchestras:

1. Principal Orchestra
2. Symphony Orchestra
3. Concert Orchestra
4. String Orchestra
