Great Bentley railway station is on the Colchester to Clacton Line and serves the village of Great Bentley, Essex, England. It is located on the line from Clacton to Colchester and provides trains to Walton-on-the-Naze and Colchester. Train services are provided by National Express East Anglia.
The station has two main platforms. The up side platform is for services towards Colchester, while the down side platform is for services towards Clacton-on-Sea.
Unlike the nearest stations in each direction, the original station house here is still in use. The ticket clerk is also responsible for moving the level crossing gates each time a train passes. National Rail are considering upgrading the manual barriers to an automatic version but these plans are ongoing.
