User talk:GRANDEXTRAV

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

GRANDEXTRAV, you have twice inserted the unsupported statement, "He is also known as a symbol of Bigotry" into the article about former NC Senator Jesse Helms. Such name-calling violates of Wikipedia's Biographies_of_living_persons policy. I removed it this time; someone else removed it the previous time. Please do not persist. [edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 19:50, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 3 revert rule warning.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Jesse Helms. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Yilloslime (t) 20:09, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Since you've ignored the above warning, I've reported your 3RR violation. See here. Yilloslime (t) 22:14, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WP:BLP

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, some of your recent edits have been reverted as they could be seen to be defamatory or potentially libellous. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Edits such as this one will be reverted in accordance with wikipedia's policy on biographies of living persons (WP:BLP): "Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material — whether negative, positive, or just questionable — about living persons should be removed immediately and without discussion from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, user pages, and project space." Continual reinsertion of this type of material is disruptive, please reread the relevant policies and guidelines before attempting to add such content to articles--Cailil talk 20:14, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating the three-revert rule at Jesse Helms. Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. MastCell Talk 22:24, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
