Guitarist, vocalist starting out with "The Mixtures", a racially mixed group that was personified by Eddie "Gordo" Davis on his Rampart stable of record labels in the early 60's out of Hollywood, California. One of the originators of what is now known as "The Eastside Sound", that includes, "Cannibal & the Headhunters" and the latin rock band, "Tierra".

Came up making the "Rainbow Gardens" in Pomona, California, the mecca of what the Chicano music scene became from the early 60's to the present.

Went on to collaborate with the original funk guitarist (Johnny Otis, James Brown), Jimmy Nolen, who became his mentor and teacher.
