The company is headquartered in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. Brown Industries, Inc is a member of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce[1] and the Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association[2].

The company was founded in 1946 as Brown Wholesale Company and was bought and incorporated by Edward J. Ardis, Jr. in 1986, when it officially become Brown Industries, Inc. The company was started by graduates of Brown University. Brown Industries, Inc manufactures and markets employee awards and recognition items mainly with a direct marketing strategy. They market to Medical Professionals, Primary Education Professionals, Secondary Education Professionals, Higher Education Professionals, Housekeepers, Foodservice Professionals, Government and Public Service Institutions, Volunteers, as well as other corporate and industrial business markets.

Their first and primary products are customizable award pins on which the wording and Swarovski Crystal stone color can be chosen by the customer.
