Why is there no history section? This was the site of the 1873 Colfax Massacre, also known as the Colfax Riot, in which three whites and up to 150 freedmen were killed. In 1874 Grant and neighboring parishes were where the paramilitary group of the White League first formed.--Parkwells (talk) 18:22, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
