[edit] Consentual sex?

I've removed the following sentence

Two weeks before his sentencing, Capill has sent an email to his supporters stating that the sex with one of the girls had been consensual. [1]

Sex with a minor can never be consensual (especially not one less than 12 years old). What this statment actually says is that according to Capill, one of his victims didn't struggle or show obvious distress during the assault. Presumably the others did.-gadfium 01:22, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

Okay, no problem. I've added back in the Stuff news story though as it is a source for the sentence he received. Evil MonkeyHello 01:25, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Speculation about future events

Removed the foll speculation from the article. I suggest it is not reinstated unless a documentary reference is included.

"It is speculated that since Capill was identified with the Christian Heritage Party for so long, the party's performance in the 2005 elections might suffer as a consequence of his conviction."

[edit] Removed link for quotes

I've removed the 'See Also' section because the solitary link to Stuff.co.nz had stopped working.

[edit] On a factually accurate term I just added

Is Graham Capill a christian? Yes.

Is he a convicted pedophile? Yes.

Then there is no reason to object to calling him a "christian pedophile".

I think perhaps you are trying to imply that there is a link between his Christianity and his pedophilia. This is only speculation on your part. The change you made to the article doesn't improve it at all.-gadfium 22:39, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Never practiced law

I'm not a lawyer nor do I have much experience in the legal field so perhaps my understanding is different from one in such a field but I find it strange that someone who was a police prosecutor would be described as having 'never practiced law'. I assume this means he has never praticed law privately but still, as a lay person I feel saying he's never practiced law is just plain odd. BTW I should add the article doesn't even mention he was qualified to practice law until it mentions he was a police prosecutor and then that he was forbidden from practicing law Nil Einne 12:35, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
