Talk:Graduated cylinder

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm half tempted to talk about how we would torture cockroaches by capturing them, putting them in graduated cylinders and then inflict various lab chemicals on them (or better yet, liquid nitrogen), but that kind of thing (too bad there is no post for laboratory humour) is probably too irreverant for a main post. - Dwmyers

[edit] GRADUATED cylinder

what does the "graduated" in graduated cylinder mean?

That refers to the volumetric markings. DMacks 00:30, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rain Gauge Markings

I bought a new rain gauge molded of clear plastic. Although it has a rectangular cross section, it is wider at the top than at the bottom and the graduations - both inches and millimeters - are longer than actual dimensions as measured with a ruler. Could someone help me understand why it has been made this way?
