[edit] Importance of event
Grad Nite has the same significance as other Disney topics, first of all. If we can have articles on various defunct Disney rides like If You Had Wings, then we can have one on this.
I disagree that it reads like an advertisement. Disney would certainly not advertise that three people, of the I think it is 12 or 13 that have died at Disney parks, died at Grad Nite
It is also a good reference point for fans of bands that are booked to play Grad Nite, and who may not know what Grad Nite is.--Wehwalt 21:08, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
I've rewritten it somewhat to eliminate the "advertisement". If it is not sufficient, please feel free to put back the tag.--Wehwalt 21:50, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
- IMO, this is merely a marketing scheme designed to draw people and their buying power to Disney. It is by its very nature a advertising scheme of limited scope, and so I don't find it particularly encyclopedic. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 22:40, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
- The rules on Advertising say "Articles about companies and products are acceptable if they are written in an objective and unbiased style. " I don't think any of the articles that were tagged last night where POV pushing or biased. --Arwen4014 15:13, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

- I agree. And I rewrote the article so that it sounded less like advertising, based on my personal experience at Grad Nite last month in Florida--no, I'm not 18; I was the guest of one of the performers.--Wehwalt 16:22, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

- Perhaps the article can be NPOV-ed enought to become not-advertising, but I still find the subject matter to be an unencyclopedic non-notable marketing campaign. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 16:29, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Six Flags and Knott's
The article currently states: In California, Six Flags and Knott's have tried unsuccessfully to market parties for graduating seniors or teens but have canceled them.
Is this supposed to mean that Six Flags and Knott's sent out announcements to hold a night for graduating seniors, received a poor response from the high schools, and then canceled the event without it taking place at all? Or is it just supposed to mean that Six Flags and Knott's used to hold nights for graduating seniors, but then decided to stop holding the events in later years? Saying the event was "canceled" implies that it never took place at all. --Metropolitan90 07:18, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- Most likely the latter; but I don't know. I will rephrase to avoid the point.--Wehwalt 14:40, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
