Description

A 200° view looking south from Linville Peak on Grandfather Mountain. To the far right (west) you can see Roan Mountain on the Tennessee border. The Black Mountain range, nearly 40 miles (64.3 kilometers) away, looms on the distant horizon to the center right. Grandmother Mountain, crowned by the WUNE-TV (a UNC-TV station) tower is to the right in the foreground. Near the center of the panorama is a small section of the Blue Ridge Parkway. To the far left (east) you can see the famous Grandfather Mountain Mile-High Swinging Bridge. Panoramic image compiled with Autostitch from 19 individual photographs, taken in Avery County, North Carolina with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 mounted to a Panosaurus tripod head.
