1902 photo of Grand Crossing in Chicago, from the Illinois Central Railroad. Scanned at 300 dpi from Trains magazine July 2003. Public domain due to age (pre-1923).

This is looking north along the six-track (two suburban, two intercity passenger, two freight) Illinois Central Railroad, with the Pennsylvania Railroad's Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago Railway and New York Central Railroad's Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway crossing (not sure why there are three sets of diamonds).
